I wanted to take my daughter, DaNae Aguirre and her boyfriend, Zach Todd, out for a special lunch. My daughter suggested The Syringa. The Syringa restaurant, located on Fourth Ave., owned by Viijo and Autumn Basso, opened in 2004. Viijo Basso, 37, went to Portlands Western Culinary Institute and worked as an intern and chef at a French cuisine restaurant in Seattle while moonlighting as a Sushi chef at Mahiko, a Japanese restaurant.

By Evan ConnetDiversionsMy initial thoughts upon seeing the first trailer for "The Book of Eli" were immensely positive as the amazing pieces began to stack up. Denzel Washington? Always a plus. A post-apocalyptic scenario ripe for action and anarchy? Count me in.

Top five movies fixating on anatomy

By Peter BanuelosDiversionsIts time to talk body parts. I want to talk about great films that somehow involve some part, or parts of the human body. It is time for an anatomy lesson and a film lesson - all rolled in one. Most of the five films listed have, by coincidence, been released in the last decade, all except one - a classic from 1939.
